And yet there are many threads there talking about how terrible this place is.  Maybe it doesn't need to be made, but people talk about it an awful lot.

This isn't even really a pure bashing thread since unlike some of the AAD crew I don't consider here to be completely worthless, it most certainly isn't.  I just think it's ridiculous about how smug the anti-AAD people are when: 1-This place is overflowing with this type of crap and AAD has nothing similar and 2-Most of them have never even read an AAD post.

Well, on post quality, I reiterate what I said in the other thread that (IMHO, and I'm not offended if you disagree) there's plenty of junk on AAD too, it's just a different kind of junk.  But I'm not going to go over there to look for (what I consider) bad posts, and repost them in this thread for us to scrutinize and debate what's better....because I can't be bothered.  I don't care that much.

Though I may be in a small minority even here, I do legit like the 2016 board here, even though there's a lot of hackery from certain posters.  Maybe there'll now be a thread on AAD where people say "Morden likes the 2016 board on Bad Atlas.  How dumb can he be?", but whatever.  I'm just not bothered by other people having different opinions about what they enjoy reading or writing online.  I'm not going to get into a debate about this or that post in order to justify it.

Regarding Antonio's criticisms...I'm not going to try to speak for him, but it sounded like what he didn't like there was more the "forum culture" than the posting quality as such.

Anyway, maybe Dead0 and others are being unfair, shouldn't be talking about a forum they've never been to, etc.  But when a bunch of people on an internet forum post something like "This forum has some good points, but has way too much crap.  You need to try this other forum that's much better.", and they do this repeatedly over several weeks/months...can you really be surprised when people who like the forum they're on, and have no desire to move, start to get annoyed and respond with snark?

IIRC, Snowstalker posted some porn as part of his "I'm going to act crazy-stupid so as to force Nym to ban me" campaign. It worked, but he could've just stopped posting and saved the forum some drama as well as saved his reputation.

Though, IIRC, the porn (and anti-Semitic images) only lasted here for something like 30 minutes before being deleted, so most people never noticed it.  So I don't think there was actually much drama.  His going out with bang ended up being more going out with a fizzle.

Also the "people who sent porn to people here" don't post there either (it was likely Atheist2006 who was likely behind solarstorm and he isn't an AAD poster.)
