There is some bad blood between Obama and the Clintons that will never go away. I don't think Obama has ever fully forgiven them for the race-baiting campaign they ran against him during the 2008 primaries, and I can't say I blame him.

Even if that was true, which isn't, the same could be said about W. and McCain in 2008.
I am really surprised by the fact that stating the obvious (Obama won't endorse anyone as long as the primary is competitive) is met with so much surprise or hostility.

W's endorsement didn't mean jack s*** in 2008. The man wasn't even welcome at his own party's nominating convention that year. McCain didn't win the nomination because of W.

Obama matters. He basically created the Democratic coalition's current form. If he were to endorse Biden over Hillary, it would make her path to the nomination considerably more difficult. (And, if anything, it would provoke the nasty streak her and Bill both have, causing her to appear even more unappealing and creating a downward spiral.)

People suggesting Biden would be running because of bad blood between Obamas and the Clintons is just wrong and trying to create drama that doesn't exist.. Biden is very much a friend of both circles. He would be running on his own, not because of any animosity towards anyone.

Obama created the Democratic coalition? Of urbanites and minorities? You think they were voting Republican before?

I think the big concern for Hillary is that Biden peeling off black voters from her, I think he could have a real shot in SC.

This is a good thing for Democrats. If Hillary is going to crash and burn, wouldn't you rather it happen in the primary than the general? Plus, now if the scandals keep mounting, Democrats will have a viable alternative to turn to.

Plus Biden would eviscerate most if not all of the Republicans in the debates. That is facts.

I will say that if the Republicans nominate someone I cannot support, I would much rather have Biden than Clinton.

Seeing Biden give Ryan the "full Biden treatment" was a highlight of the 2012 campaign... and the pearl clutching from conservatives "omg, he was sooooo rude".

Honestly don't know who I would pick between Clinton and Biden. Clinton seems safer, she wouldn't do anything great but she wouldn't do anything stupid either. Biden is a dumb***. His plan to divide Iraq into 3 reeks of someone who read the Wikipedia article on Iraq and thinks that makes him a middle east expert.

He is one of the few politicians that I think is a genuinely good guy. I'd much prefer him to Clinton and would prefer him to many GOP candidates as well. I don't necessarily agree with him on the issues a ton but I'd rather a principled guy that I disagreed with than an unprincipled guy I did.

This (plus his closeness to Obama) would be what cause me to vote for him over say Scott Walker. He's definitely near the top of my list. Scoot over Bernie Sanders!

All I'll say is that if Biden wants this, he needs to start running...like...next week. Things are more advanced than he might think...the debates are upon us.

I would never ever support either Biden or Clinton. I'd be fine with Chafee, Webb and Sanders though.

I'm actually kind of surprised that you'd be on board with Sanders, tbh.

I hope Biden runs. He's a great guy that actually can understand the average American and work across party lines. He would get my vote over Sanders and Clinton.

There is no bad blood between Obama and the Clintons. The guy's first phone call after he was reelected was to Bill to thank him for his help.
Some people here are stuck in the spring of 2008 while everybody else has moved on.

Between ISIS, the Kurds, and what remains of the Iraqi central government, isn't Iraq already effectively partitioned into thirds?

Hmmm...what are the chances that Biden swallows up some of Clinton's voters and--them splitting the non-socialist vote--Bernie ends up winning?

This is a good thing for Democrats. If Hillary is going to crash and burn, wouldn't you rather it happen in the primary than the general? Plus, now if the scandals keep mounting, Democrats will have a viable alternative to turn to.

PREACH! It's annoying whenever Hillary fans complain about a guy like Biden running. If he runs and she wins, it means she's coming off running a competitive campaign--if he wins, then I guess Hillary would've been the wrong nominee!

I would never ever support either Biden or Clinton. I'd be fine with Chafee, Webb and Sanders though.

I'm actually kind of surprised that you'd be on board with Sanders, tbh.

If Sanders wins the nomination and has a chance to win in Georgia, and it's a Republican I don't like, I could see myself going Bernie. (But I'll probably vote for the Libertarian nominee.)

People suggesting Biden would be running because of bad blood between Obamas and the Clintons is just wrong and trying to create drama that doesn't exist.. Biden is very much a friend of both circles. He would be running on his own, not because of any animosity towards anyone.

How many people have been suggesting that? I don't think Biden would run because of an Obama-Clinton feud, but I could see Obama endorsing him and Biden using that to rebuild Obama's anti-Hillary coalition in 2008 and then take the presidency.

Here's a fact: if Biden enters the race, and Obama endorses him and campaigns for him, it's on like effing donkey kong.

Eh I'd prefer Al Gore as the anti-Hillary Grandee, as much as I like Biden I've got doubts about his ability to run a good campaign (However how many people said that about Obama in 2007?)

Pretty low considering that delegates are split proportionally.

Hillary has the support she has, because Democrats assumed she was unbeatable and wouldn't have the problems she now has. No Democrat love Hillary that they will throw themselves over a cliff. If Joe Biden is viewed as a credible opponent, the Bernie Sanders phenomenon has demonstrated that there is disquiet within the Democrat base. So I could imagine that all that financial & political support would dry up if Biden is in the frame. Hillary is like a ticking time bomb and Democrats don't want to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Watch this space☺

Even lower considering that in such a scenario, either Hillary or Biden will drop out.  Even if they both somehow stay in until the convention, they'll probably make some sort of deal with each other, locking Sanders out.

In order to win, Sanders is going to need to win the majority of the Democratic electorate.  There isn't much of a way around this.

I would support him on the democratic side. Unlike Clinton, I don't think he's an evil person at the end of the day.
I agree. Might overtake Bernie for me as he probably has a better shot.
