After the nomination of Edmund Muskie in a close primary, he selects conservative Democrat Henry 'Scoop' Jackson as his running mate to balance the ticket. The Republican Party picks Missouri senator Kit Bond as his VP candidate. A slew of third party candidates decide to run!

Buckley/Bond. I love Scoop, but him being VP nominee is not enough to get my vote for Muskie.
