Thoughts? I don't think Fox has mentioned Kasich's name a single time after the debate ended.

Could it perhaps be a conflict of interest issue?

CNN on the other hand is praising him lol.

That's really interesting. I'm waiting for Fox to just say Kasich's name. They're talking about Paul more than him!

It tells you about the audience base of the news groups.

CNN continues to be a wonderful news network.

You'd expect a guy who performed wonderfully on the debates and used to work for FOX News would get some love from the network he used worked for.

Anyone who expanded Medicare and doesn't regret doing it is not going to get praise from Fox News. Plus, I don't think he performed so spectacular that it's worthy of high praise. He didn't screw up, but he delivered at best a passing performance.

John Kasich performed very well, looked the most presidential out of anyone in the debate, and was definitely the most electable candidate on the stage. Fox News probably is less interested in who actually performed well at the debate - they're more concerned with who was the 'most conservative' or most inflammatory or bizarre. Hence you get Carson and Huckabee.

I imagine you'll see a lot of praise for Kasich, Rubio, and maybe even Christie, Walker, and Bush on CNN and MSNBC.

As I said in the other thread, it is because he makes too much  sense, and Fox has a duty to cater to their audience which generally feels that Kasich is too moderate.

It's unfortunate.

This is a primary debate and it's not necessarily about who comes across as the most reasonable in the eyes of the general electorate.

Fox seems to be team Jeb.   They gave Jeb a bunch of softball questions that Jeb responded to with scripted answers.

"He did very well!"

"Oh, absolutely!"

"I think he connected individually with voters!"

"Moving on..."

That's what I was thinking. I thought they ignored Cruz and Kasich badly.

I thought Kasich did well. He looked human.

Kasich was the big winner of the debate.  I expect his poll numbers to grow, and I expect him to poll better vs. the Democrats in the near future.  He grows on people, and I considered his response to Trump to be very, very shrewd.

Kasich's "victory" was made possible, in part, by Jeb Bush's "poor" performance.  The bar is higher for Jeb for reasons I don't need to belabor, and he ended up looking like one of the pack, and not the front-runner (outside of Trump).

FOX wanted Jeb Bush to "win" the debate.  He didn't, and Kasich did very well, so I suspect there is a lot of retrenching on who should get the "establishment" nod.  The case for Kasich (for whom Rubio would be an ideal running mate) became a bit compelling, I believe, in the eyes of the "electability" crowd after last night.

A lot of people thought Jeb did well. I thought it was weak. He reminded me of Mitt Romney - after talking to the consultants and regurgitating what they told him to say. Frankly, I thought W did better than Jeb on the stage, and that wasn't his strongsuit.
