In 2015, I'd say that hatred of metal music and metal culture is way prominent way more prominent amongst the left than conservatives, considering the anti-metal contingent in the scene and SJW types. Lots of conservatives today probably actually like metal.

Yes, I believe this was one of the main points of order in the last Socialist International conference, as you can see from the transcript:

G. PAPANDREOU (PASOK) : the following motion is to censure "metal music" and its related culture. Is the motion carried?

F. HOLLANDE (Partie Socialist) : oui, metal is contrary to our essential SJW values.

T. MULCAIR (NDP) : yes, eh. you would not hear metal in dudefest.

D. ROUSSEFF (Worker's party) : motion carried. Next, will the floor consider an amendment from S. GANDHI (Indian National Congress) condemning South Park?

I was thinking more about how a certain Minneapolis hardcore band has a song called "Cleanse The Filth" where they call for the annihilation of (amongst many other things) metal culture.

This is primarily in response to one time when I was accused of "literally using Jerry Falwell talking points" to bash metal.

I don't mind your terrible music taste. But I really mind you spamming this board with random subjects you're obsessed with.

That's probably the best thing about AAD. All the BRTD nonsense is contained to one single board.

Could we please contain all the BRTD nonsense to one megathread like it was done with nkpatel?

Left, I guess. I say that solely because the loudest moral guardians of the 2010s seem to be left-wing rather than right-wing this time. Social conservative Evangelicals seem to have been replaced with Social Justice campaigners.

Based off this and other commentary you've posted, I feel as though you live in a different country/dimension than I do.

He literally has his own sub-forum on AAD to discuss his hobbies and "theories" in peace, and yet still posts them here anyway.  He must be really bored of AAD and its "superior discussions" already.

No, not replaced. The two exist side by side.

There are still a lot more hidebound sociocultural conservatives out there than there are BRTD-style 'alternative' liberals. Add to that High Tory (or non-Commonwealth equivalent) types who would tend to hate metal (and most rock, most pop, rap, et cetera) for perhaps less obviously ideological reasons. Definitely the right.

Agreed.  Most conservatives, according to opinion polls I've seen, prefer country and Classical.  Those who prefer the latter more are probably more the "High Tory" or "wine track" type, while those preferring country would be more "beer track," though there's plenty of folks, myself included, who like both.

This is just anecdotal, but from personal experience 80's pop and classic rock also seems to popular among conservative Republicans.
