My Commentary:

The government can't just hand out money to companies for hiring people; our money supply isn't unlimited and considering how many people are hired by small businesses every year, giving $4,000 to businesses just for doing so every time is extremely impractical. So Sections 1 and 2 don't seem to be doable. Sections 3, 4, and 6 seem to be based off of 1 and 2 and are hence also not doable, and section 5 is redundant/unnecessary...

Sorry.

You seem to misunderstand: this is a bill that already exists, I'm just amending it, which actually makes it more affordable. It's not a question whether we should continue doing this or not--we could have that discussion later, if you want--we'll actually be spending more money if my bill doesn't pass.

I'm adding this part, in section 1: "as long as they are an Atlasian citizen or permanent resident." I introduced it with that part in bold; my intention is a little less clear without that bit.

Anyway, we should pass this bill because it not only keeps us from wasting money, but encourages Atlasian jobs. With the old bill, you could be hiring someone from anywhere, and you'll still get a tax credit for it. The original intent of the bill is to increase employment in Atlasia, so it's only logical to take this action.

Ohhhhhh

Sorry! I did misunderstand you.

So is the text you submitted the whole bill with the only amended part being the part you put in bold?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this, or is it ready to be voted on?

The bill looks good to me following Leinad's correction. Seeing as how debate hasn't happened here for days, I'll be opening it up to a vote now for the next 48 hours.
