I voted for Obama in the 2012 Democratic primary, to my eternal shame. I won't be voting in any primary in 2016.

I haven't, because literally any presidential primary is over before it gets to my state (plus I've only voted in the 2012 presidential election so far).

Very consistently for the establishment Pub candidate. Part of that was that CA had its primary so late in the cycle.

This is supposed to be a "how have you voted" thread, right, not a "how would you have voted" thread. Seems like some people don't understand that Roll Eyes

Indeed. Anyway, below is how I actually voted (plus two elections where I was too young to vote, but how I would have voted at the time if able to):

Too young to vote

1964  Nelson Rockefeller (persuaded parents to vote for Rockefeller over Goldwater)
1968: Nixon

Voted
1972: Nixon
1976: Ford
1980: George H.W. Bush
1984: Ronald Reagan
1988: George H.W. Bush
1992: George H.W. Bush
1996: Bob Dole
2000: John McCain
2004: George W. Bush
2008: John McCain
2012: Mitt Romney

1992: Jerry Brown
1988: Paul Simon
1984: Jesse Jackson

1960-Jack Kennedy
1964-LBJ
1968-Robert Kennedy
1972- Edmund Muskie
1976- Mo Udall
1980- Edward Kennedy
1984- Walter Mondale
1988- Michael Dukakis
1992- Tom Harkin
1996- Bill Clinton
2000- Al Gore
2004- Howard Dean
2008- Hillary Clinton
2012- Barack Obama

All without hindisght, only one I'd reject is voting for Clinton in 2008 but I know I would have been one of the progressives who liked Clintons history on gay rights/liberal issues whilst doubting Obama's strength to win a primary-however if I voted after Ted Kennedy that could have swinged me towards obama

I have never voted in a primary, since I only became eligible to vote in 2011. And although I wanted to participate in the Republican caucuses in 2012 (we have open caucuses, and the Democratic ones were a foregone conclusion) I was too busy, although I would have registered a protest vote for Paul. Here's how I imagine I would have voted in past elections:

1952: Estes Kefauver
1956: W. Averell Harriman
1960: John F. Kennedy
1964: Lyndon Johnson
1968: Bobby Kennedy (before assassination) Eugene McCarthy (after assassination)
1972: Scoop Jackson
1976: Scoop Jackson
1980: Ted Kennedy
1984: Walter Mondale
1988: Michael Dukakis
1992: Paul Tsongas
2000: Bill Bradley
2004: Wesley Clark
2008: Hillary Clinton
2016: Hillary Clinton
