A live boy only trumps a dead girl.  Cindy Gamrat is still alive, so it seems rather like trading Park Place for Marvin Gardens.  Bad judgement.  Would not vote to re-elect on that basis alone.

My favorite weird political thing is when the Depression-era Governor of North Dakota declared North Dakota's independence and locked himself in the governor's office to avoid prosecution for corruption. The best part is that he was later elected and re-elected Senator.

There's a chance something similar has. Frankly, the alleged sex scandal Haley faced in 2010 still smells like a possible stunt to blunt more relevant attacks on her during the primary by sucking up all the media oxygen.

Don't see how what Vitter did is so weird. It may make him a massive hypocrite but it's not like that's incredibly rare amongst politicians.
