Nothing official, but what is the forum's endorsement for the Republican nomination?

John "You know he's a good candidate when the Democrats hate him" Kasich

Democrats love him here, though.

Kasich is the favorite, but for deeper reasons than the "muh gay wedding" issue. The Democrats on here fear him, which is why the love to castigate the newfound Kasich support.

That is simply not the case with most of the Democrats here, at least what I've read of their responses beyond the few that view him as a media hyped candidate (which, I can definitely see an argument for).

I'm moving and may register as a Republican to vote in the GOP primaries, lol, if by that time Hillary is a foregone conclusion/Bernie is done. I think I sincerely like Kasich? Though… Trump...

It's hilarious that most of the Democrats here seem to be fine with him but the Dems on the other forum despise him.

Why?

Among Republicans, it's Rand "I'm a libertarian, no wait I'm an establishment Republican" Paul. Among all members, it's John "I'm your only hope to beat Hillary" Kasich.

Kasich is an uninspiring, boring, inoffensive, anti-labor, awful Republican.

On the other hand, Trump is actually causing a lot of entertainment in August the year before the election. Of course people who don't take themselves too seriously on a political forum (unlike many Atlas users) are going to enjoy the ride.

No one is telling you that you can't enjoy Trump being a clown. By all means, please do. I enjoy it as well. You can do so without the hair-trigger reaction against anyone who takes a break from being ironic 24/7 and expresses personal support for a not-insane GOP candidate. I don't see anyone ironically supporting Sanders and then blasting all the ohsoserious Hillary fanboys/geniuses/whatever clever names they come up with.

If anything, it's you guys taking this too seriously. Lief is at least being funny about it. Never understood the hypercritical aspect of both forums, but whatever. Just chill and let people do their thing

I wonder if some here support Kasich specifically to annoy AAD.  It's ironic serious support of Kasich to provoke ironic Trump supporters into being seriously annoyed.

Uh, you have a right to support who you want and I have a right to say my mind about Kasich and how overrated he is. Also, I'm very sure Lief has made fun of Kasich on multiple occasions...

I think it's perfectly reasonable to question the insane boost that Kasich has received on here seeing as he's gathered multiple converts from an entirely unspectacular debate performance.

AAD for some reasons rages against Kasich

#KewlKidsSupportClinton

I totally agree with you.  The "Worst Posts of Old Atlas" thread has become the "Old Atlas Posts that I dislike because reason" thread. It already has 32 freaking pages.

The reason why there are many pages is because there is a lot of bad content around here.
Also, please show examples? Whenever I contribute there it is only objectively awful posts that I see around.

For example:

You all try so hard to dismiss AAD!

In short: You can't criticize AAD groupthink/Kool Kidz Klub when you yourselves are breeding your own "exclusivity" here by dismissing everything from AAD in a kneejerk fashion.

I've never thought that there should be some sort of inherent divide between the two forums seeing as I like both but this is just getting ridiculous.

Ironic Trump supporters, like Turkisblau, mean that the answer is Donald Trump.

The strong support for Kasich is a result of a preponderance of moderate Republicans. I'd hazard that the KKK crowd in part loathes him so much because they cannot fathom the idea of any sane person seriously being a Republican-- that all Republicans are their own stereotypes-- and thus chalk up Kasich support to people trying to be "moderate heroes" or "spouting beltway pundit talking points" as opposed to genuine support.
