What does everybody think about this? He has done good with the environment in Ohio but he holds a typical GOP view that the debate is still ongoing and its an "unproven" theory.

I can imagine he'll get some negative press because of views and I respectfully disagree with him  as well.

... To be clear, he taxes fracking, big oil companies, and such. Now, he wants to "protect God's creation". The only bad thing I heard was valuing people's livelihood over minor climate issues, when other major climate issues could be addressed instead.

He was already so "moderate" on abortion that he banned rape counselor's from talking about it, passed a ban after 20 weeks, and got half the abortion clinics on the state shut down.

There is quite a bit of diversity within the GOP on climate. There are many different positions

1. It's not happening..
2. It's happening but it's natural.
3. It's not settled science.
4. It's happening but the Chinese are to blame
5. It's happening but it's too late
6. It's happening but solutions cost jobs
7. It's happening and some future tech will fix it

Of course the policy position of 'lets do nothing' is the same for each position, but you have so much variety in how you get there.

It's funny how those who oppose climate change action have so many contradictory views, but never argue among themselves.

My hunch is that the majority of voting Americans do not consider climate change to be a major issue.  Well, that is until it starts costing more money for products and services that the public needs; or costs people their jobs.  Hence, except for a small number of voters, Kasich's thoughts are not a show-stopper.

Just my thoughts ... I could be wrong.

Yet more evidence that the per-requisite for being a Republican candidate for President it to be an evil clown who celebrates ignorance.

I expected better from a right-wing Wall Streeter who destroyed the global economy in 2008.

Governor Kasich deserves tremendous credit for telling the truth.

This "truth" has as about the same merit as the "truth" about Obama's fake birth certificate. To say climate change is unproven is on par with saying the Holocaust never happened or the Earth is 6000 years old.

*shrugs*  Nobody except those who were never going to vote Republican anyway cares about this issue, enough that is to determine their vote.  Climate change is never going to be more important than the economy, health care, or other issues that typically take precedence over it.  Didn't the most recent poll (among many others) show voters ranking it as dead last on their list of priorities?  Or at least close to it?

I believe the climate is changing, but I am not sure whether or not man has a role in it. The theories as to why the climate is changing is that - theory.

Now, to compare climate change denial to the holocaust is completely absurd.

I disagree with Kasich on this issue, but it's not that important to myself, most conservative voters, and many independents and moderates.

Climate alarmists are always blowing the effects of climate change out of proportion anyhow.

Of course the policy position of 'lets do nothing' is the same for each position, but you have so much variety in how you get there.

You left out the one mentioned frequently by the conspiracy theorists (in the case of Republicans, the Tea Party loons.)  Climate change is a myth perpetrated by governments so they can impose a carbon tax (and/or eventually impose a one world/NWO government) and backed up by greedy scientists who know it is a scam but go along with it because they want grant money.

I always respond to that claim by saying "When was this conspiracy of political leaders and scientists agreed to, where did they hold this meeting and which political leaders and scientists attended it?"
