Have the Whigs released a party list yet? I don't plan on including the single-member parties (Whigs, Country Party, and PNE) unless they take action in that regard.

Wait, what?  How is there an election?  What are the rules?  How do I vote?  I don't think I'm a member of a party.

There's an election on Friday. You just need to 'sign in' in the thread of the same name to be eligible. No need for party membership, this isn't Atlasia/bizarro America.

Great! Make sure you inform Turkisblau so that you are included on the ballot.

An important clarification - the Conservatives opposed the nationalism clause at that time because we believe it's an issue that should be dealt with by a proper government rather than the provisional rump.

Ah.  I did.  I didn't notice that the numbers given at top were "polling", not actual results, and I was so confused.

I'm fairly certain that we support democratic ownership not state ownership.

Please be a bit more precise than the buzzword "democratic".

Our stance is to support common ownership of industry by the most practical and effective means possible.

There's no real point in discussing about such semantics, comrade, especially when our party platform does not explicitly state the way companies and workplaces under a Socialist government should be managed, this leaving plenty of room for interpretation.

The Whig Party is asking the voters for a majority to form a government......I believe that we represent the view of most people here in some way or another- I encourage you to see our party page to view our platform and contribute to its creation

There is room for more in our party and on our list...... come one,,come all!!!

For reference, here's a diagram of Parliament going into the election. Note that only 20 seats shown here, while voters will choose 21 MPs this weekend.

3 Pioneers   4 Conservatives   1 PNE   4 Social Liberals   5 Socialists   3 Workers

This is fantastic, thank you Harry.

Also worth noting that the Independent MP darthebearnc joined the Socialist Party before the dissolution of parliament.

For some reason, I still had Jerry Arkansas down as the independent MP. I've corrected the diagram accordingly.

Something that might become an issue - does the phrase "No citizens who register after the commencement of the election may be eligible to vote in it" refer to the scheduled or actual commencement of the election? There's a number of voters who registered after the legal scheduled commencement (midnight last night) but before the election itself commenced (the voting booth was opened).

Regardless, afleitch never registered in the sign-in thread, so there should only be one vote for the Free Alliance.

What sign in thread? I signed up to join in the first few days that this Mock Parliament was proposed. Did everyone need to sign up again?

For what it's worth, I will be challenging this decision to disenfranchise me in the court we don't have yet, under the laws we haven't written on the basis of the rights we haven't yet established Wink
