Will Rand Paul drop out before the convention?

Or will he be more like his father, and continue on to every primary, even when it has become impossible to win?

Rand Paul is not Ron Paul. I don't see what's confusing about that.

The liberty movement is effectively dead without a libertarian in the Senate. Especially a libertarian leadr

So it's dead then? Because if there's one thing that Rand Paul has demonstrated with this campaign, it's that he is no libertarian (and no Libertarian either).

If he wants his Senate seat then yes, which is what will most likely happen.

What he said.

Not many Republicans really qualify as libertarians, anyway.  Many are economic libertarians, but they're war-happy to varying degrees, which puts off real libertarians.

Rand Paul is going to drop out to lose his re-election primary to a Trump-backed challenger. RIP Rand.

Rand will drop out after he realizes that his attacks on Trump, rather than hurting Trump, and helping himself, in fact do the opposite. At that point his campaign has no raison d'être. Gutting Trump requires the skill of master artist, not a journeyman carpenter.

Yes, continuing would interfere with running for re-election.

Could Trump destroy Rand's political career? I think it's safe to say there's a lot more Trump acolytes in Kentucky than Paulites.

Depending on what happens in Kentucky in the primary vs caucus debate at the end of August, Paul might have to drop out two weeks from now if they do go with a primary.

He will opt to keep his Senate seat instead of pursuing a campaign that cannot succeed.  However, I'm not sure his Senate re-election prospects might have been damaged by some of his more non-traditional stands on various issues.  Kentucky isn't exactly a hotbed of Libertarianism.
