I wish Jo Ann Emerson would run. I will probably support her if she runs.

I wouldn't support her over McCaskill, but she is the most sane of the Missouri Republicans. FF.

Good news for Claire but lets slow all the "SAFE D CLAIRE WILL WIN IN A LANDSLIDE" bs as that's what helped steal the presidency from us.

Now Lean R, this is a bit worrying, hopefully she just thought she wouldn't win the primary.

Oh my...

If mccaskill wins reelection i cringe at the nationwide protests and violence from the GOP.

only your party acts like a room full of children when you lose Wink Tongue

Maybe our emotional reactions have something to do with the fact that we're not devoid of empathy for the people affected by policies, and therefore don't see this as a game.

EDIT: Also I'm not ageist unlike you.

Wagner isn't running. Is McCaskill DOA?

Hawley would be Lean R and that's my vote. I doubt she will survive but it's so far out it would be crazy to count her out.

Wagner being nominated would have made the race Safe R, but it's still Likely R without her. If Hawley were to refuse also, then I would consider a change to Lean R, but all signs point to Hawley running.

Wagner dropped out because she probably thought McCaskill was the favorite. 2018 will be a bad year for the GOP, but a good year for Claire McCaskill.

Audacious prediction: McCaskill is not DOA. In fact, she will win.

I still say she's not as endangered as everybody think she is. I have it as Leans D. Look at her margin of victory over Akin. That could not solely have been because of his comments, because that race was expected to still be close, and in the end, McCaskill easily dispatched him.

I've merged 3 of the 4 McCaskill threads on this board into a new Megathread. Since this is a poll and will have a short lifespan it can stand on its own. —mod.

Tossup's the safest call here.

Had this been a Hillary midterm, then Lean or Tilt R would make sense here.

Tilt D.
Yes, Missouri's a strong R state now, but:
-Incumbency
-Trump midterm
-McCaskill is an energetic campaigner, not like Casey 2012
-She's also been focusing/sponsoring more nonpartisan legislation, like easing punishments on whistleblowers

I think the race has moved from lean R to tilt R now that Wagner decided not to run. Still not discounting a McCaskill win though, she proved many people wrong in 2012. I think Josh Hawley likely becomes the GOP nominee, assuming he actually runs

This forum is going to be a mess when this race is called, no matter who wins...

I'd rate it a Toss-Up now, at least until Hawley commits to running.

Guess the McCaskill haters need to take down their "Congratulations, Senator Wagner!" decorations. Wink

This is looking more like a Toss-Up. Republicans should be at least a bit worried that a lot of potential candidates have backed out of their respective races. It could just be bad luck, or it could be that they're seeing the writing on the wall.

Complete Toss-Up until she has a challenger pop up that's somewhat credible. Claire keeps getting luckier and luckier.

Well, one thing is clear: This thread is going to be bumped on Nov. 7, 2018, regardless of who wins.

Unless 2018 shapes up to be a very different year than we're expecting, this class of Senate Dems has been a bunch of lucky duckies going back to 2000.
