Hawley can definitely win. He won his AG election by 23 points.

Ideologically, can anyone find out where Josh Hawley stands? Younger Republicans like him are generally more conservative, so I hope he adheres to that rule.

He could definitely be a rising star. He is only 37 and is already being urged by the VP and big money to run for senate- that's impressive.

Another one of those illegal voters?

Why does this law exist in the first place? Also, why should he permanently move to Jefferson City? McCaskill still votes in Missouri even though she (like all senators except a select few like Ben sadse) lives in Washington.

Hawley is a criminal so the Trump people should like him.
Not everyone you don't like is a criminal.

MO AG Hawley was essentially forced by the MO GOP and the establishment. I don't know if Bannon will be on his side.

Apparently he has endorsed Hawley.
Hawley is very conservative. the nasty attempts by Petersen to brand him a RINO will fail.

Hayley is the rare candidate who is very conservative and palatable to the establishment. He will demolish McCaskill. #Hawley2018

Kander could no longer win. His high profile criticism of Trump and all Republicans will not be popular. Nationalization of races in Red and blue states hurts the opposite party of the state.

McCaskill has not criticized Trump and Republicans?
I didn't say McCaskill could win.

Uh is anyone else a bit sad that this is the state that went from being the closest state in the country in 2008 and electing democrats statewide by sometimes landslide margins as recently as 2012 to becoming a state that could oust the last two state democratic office holders state wide next year?  In a democratic wave year.

Despite popular belief... It would have been better if Wagner ran for the Senate. Her district would have been viable if open

Wagner would have defeated McCaskill in a landslide.

Lol. Wagner is the female Roy Blunt. Could she win? Definitely. Landslide? Lmao no
Agreed. She's uninspiring.

Kevin Robillard @PoliticoKevin

NEWS: Rep. Ann Wagner is taking another look at entering the #MOSen GOP primary, three Republican sources say, but it's unlikely she actually gets in at this point.

No way she gets in. She couldn't raise the money or support.

Hawley isn't weakened by these comments. People will forget in days, let alone months.

According to Daily Kos Hawley is not only lagging in fundraising but has burned almost half the money he's rasied already while Claire has both burned only 32% of hers while buring more in literal dollars
This is a whisper campaign by Claire intended to sow discontent among GOP ranks. It won't work. Also, don't forget the C4G has 2 mill in the bank totally for Hawley from 1 donor (more will come).

tbf it's not like josh hawley is getting small donor money either. ain't no regular people donating to his tuck ass lol

I can’t imagine any gettable Missouri voter is going to be swayed by something small like this, particularly when the current President lies about his relation with diplomats at a fundraiser for Harley doody

It absolutely sways people when McCaskill banks on reducing GOP rural margins to win.

Given that a whopping 128,000 people are donating money to Mccaskill in just 3 months, it's clear she has genuine grassroots support.
Over half of that is from ActBlue. I would be surprised is the majority of those are Missourians.

Hawley announces fundraising 1.5 Million in the first quarter, with 70% coming from donations of 200 dollars or less. Roughly 70% of Hawley's donations also came from in-state.

http://www.kctv5.com/story/38353443/unofficial-results-arthur-defeats-corlew-handily-in-missouri-senate-special-election

Democrat Lauren Arthur won a special election in the northland - this is a PICKUP for Democrats and she won by 20 (!!!) points. To give you an idea on how big this is, the Republican incumbent won this race in 2016 62-37. Greitens is really dragging down the Republican ticket, it is a matter of whether they're able to reverse the bleeding by November.

Race Change: Toss-Up -> Lean McCaskill

Damn that is some swing.

Yeah, and it is relatively promising in the sense that if Democrats can start winning places like Clay and Platte regularly on the statewide level, it will ups go a long way towards bringing back the state into the periphery of competitiveness. Republicans are close to maxed out in the rurals.

After 2016 I’m skeptical of claims that the GOP rural vote is maxed out
