So currently, we have no one declared...I'm hoping that we can have another contested electionn in the Northeast, even if a lot of our active platyers have moved on to higher places.

If anyone still wonders if consolidation is necessary, here is your answer.

We've held Assembly elections before with far fewer than the number of Assemblymen to be elected before (5), and still managed to elect 5.  I think I recall elections where only 2 have declared.  And there is a proposed amendment to drop the size of the Assembly to 3 if not enough candidates declare.

One problem is that many Northeasterners are holding federal offices now, and there is a blanket prohibition on holding a federal and regional office.

Barely managing to find enough people to fill every office does not constitute an active Region, though. Activity demands competitive elections, and for that we need a much larger number of candidates that any Region has been able to find recently. It's true that many Northeasterners now hold federal office, but that should not lead to a scarcity of active participants if the system is healthy (which it is not). By passing a three-Region map, we ensure that there are enough players to keep every office filled while still having enough active players our of office to keep government on its toes.

We now have three people running, which is still be lower than any other Assembly election my time here. If you have any interest in running, you'll probably win at this rate Tongue .

The first time I voted in Atlasia, there were only 3 candidates for Assembly too. We ended up with 4 write-in candidates, with myself being one of them Tongue
