Not unless he is extraordinarily delusional. I wouldn't put it beyond him to be extraordinarily delusional, but I feel like he must know deep down that he has a snowball's chance in hell.

I think most people running for president think they could win in the general election.

Absolutely. He was shocked that women in NY curse. He lives in a major bubble.

I think he has a minor chance, but he is at a bigger electoral college disadvantage than others even if he can perform strongly in PV.

Yes. I think Huckabee has enormous blind spots, and thinks that more people are on his side than is really the case.

I suspect that he (and other far right candidates) believe the myth that the GOP does not need to make inroads with moderates, single women, Youngs, nonwhites and non Christmas, because there is a supposed hidden reserve of conservative white Christian voters just waiting for a real conservative to run. The theory goes that these voters stayed at home for McCain and Romney but will vote for Huck.

Yes, and Huckabee can win. This country still has values voters, folks, and don't forget, he did well with African-Americans in Arkansas. If he picks Marco Rubio, he can pick up some Latino voters. Yes,he is a high risk candidate, and there is plenty of video that will be used against him, but he could make a general election competitive.

Of course he doesn't. He's selling his awful book. His name is who he is: a huckster. And his sputtering Presidential campaign proves it.

Mike Huckabee believes the way to win a general election is to run a populist campaign and attack the "Clinton machine."

What he doesn't realize is that his positions on same-sex marriage are going to hurt him, as will his tax increases and pardons as Governor of Arkansas. He's seen as a good man, a very good talk show host, but a rather mediocre Governor and presidential hopeful (in 2008 he was great, he doesn't seem to have much of a message this time).

Huckabee thought he could win in 2008. This year he's just going through the motions.

He believes the Evangelical Right version of God is real, so he probably thinks anything is possible.
