Pandering to the left during the primaries, or deeply-held belief?

"It's not coincidental pandering when a Democrat does it during primary season!" !!!!!!

I'm not joking. I've not seen a Republican accuse a Democrat of pandering this year except in absolutely otherwise-insane comments. Meanwhile, Democrats do it all the time.

Clinton was to the left of Obama on the environment during her time in the Senate.  It's not a departure.

For being in the public eye since 1992, people sure are completely ignorant of her positions. She's been against ANWR drilling both in the Senate and as First Lady. Yet she's going to be labeled a flipflopper on this without a flip.

Obama voted against ANWR too. Maybe if Hillary was President and Obama was the frontrunner, he'd be opposing her ANWR drilling.

Come on, now. Bill Clinton vetoed ANWR drilling bills passed by the Congress. This is one liberal issue where the Clintons have put their ass on the line.

Its pretty clear throughout the whole campaign that Bernie Sanders has dragged Hillary to the left, regardless of this issue. This isn't a surprise.

Except this is an issue that she already was on the left for.

I know, hence I said regardless. I was more responding to the dialogue in the thread.

So this is Bill Clinton's 3rd term? I was thought Hillary was supposed to be her own person.

Way to pivot.

Hillary voiced her opposition to ANWR as First Lady and Bill acted in that same position.  She voted against it multiple times as a Senator. She's always been against it.

I'm getting very confused too... whenever someone wants to bitch at Hillary, they bring up Bill's presidency, somewhat arrogantly assuming they always agreed (considering she was in no position to actively pursue an opposite course) on EVERY. POLICY. ISSUE. As King correctly points out, this is an issue where there has been overlap and agreement when she's been an active politician.

What is it that we now know about the Arctic that we didn't in 2011?  (serious question)

On yet another issue, Hillary Clinton is out of touch with ordinary Americans. More domestic oil production means more competition and thus lower fuel and home heating oil costs. She is taking such a radical position that even Barack Obama is against her on this.

That's the thing about the Clintons, they try to have it both ways on every issue. I mean if you can't trust Obama, why the heck would you trust her?

Anyways, the new information we know about the Arctic now is that her focus groups told her that some primary voters care about the issue.

Further evidence of and experience with climate change; it means we have to commit to leaving more fossil fuels under the ground where God left them to avoid worse outcomes.
