Oh my ----

Do I dare cheer on Bush just to see this happen? The Carson numbers are incredibly disappointing though, but I am hopeful that might just be a regional thing.

Wow, I would never have guessed that Trump would have beaten Jeb by that much in a head-to-head in a Southern state, which has proven to be Jeb's strongest region by far this far. Carson's numbers versus Trump are truely impressive. Now, imagine a Carson-Jeb head-to-head lol.

Doubtful that it's only regional, as Carson has the lowest unfavorables of all even nationally. Carson and Rubio are basically universally popular among Republican voters for the time being.

Trump is doing well in the south. Reason being - less educated, poorer whites who are more likely to be disaffected look up to Trump more (I'm generalizing, but it is disproportionate).

Though North Carolina is one of the most/more educated states (lately) - especially so for being in the South - though still not at the Level of Colorado, Massachusetts and some others.

Upon further inspection, it seems to be not from women hating Trump (as he does pretty well with them in the other matchups), but from women absolutely adoring Carson. That sounds like a realistic national phenomenon.

To sum up my AAD post rather than quoting it:
In the Bush match-up-
Trump gets Walker/Cruz/Perry/Paul voters
Carson and Huckabee are split.

In the Carson match-up-
Carson gets Christie, Bush, and Cruz voters.
Kasich and Huckabee split down the middle.

Huckabee voters have been real interesting for awhile now. It's hard to predict who they actually are. A lot of southern pride white moderates who will go Bush in there for sure yet also angry Tea Partiers who might like Trump and also the religious folk who might go Carson. That's an interesting coalition.

Most of those highly educated folks are either Democrats or they are probably supporting a different Republican.

If the live interview pollsters included Lessig in all their polls, then he might actually qualify for the October debate.

But they probably won't…

It would be really funny if Lessig managed to qualify and Chafee didn't.
