Who are the "Others" and the "Other Christians," what do you identify as?

Oldies is an Adventist. BRTD might have decided his emergent church is "other"? No idea about the others.

I voted Lutheran, Charismatic, Evangelical, Nondenominational and Other.

This surprises me. Can you elaborate?

I still go to Lutheran churches when I'm with my family so often on holidays too. Also basically every wedding I've been to in the last five years has been at one.

I voted Catholic and Orthodox Jewish. Many people don't know but my mothers father was a child of two Hasids from Poland. Both of them escaped before the Shoah, but they lost most of their families either at Treblinka, Sobibor or Auschwitz I. I did have two relatives out of 32 relatives in general who survived they survived Bergen-Belsen and Birkenau respectively. Only one of them is still alive the other died 3 years ago.

The UCC is essentially Congregational despite having some Reformed and Lutheran roots in its history.

Why would someone designate themselves a "Secular Humanist" rather than an atheist?

I could see agnostics adopting the Humanist label. Vice versa, not all atheists are Humanists.

I don't officially subscribe to any denomination of Judaism, but I regularly attend Orthodox Synagogue and hold many beliefs that Conservative Jews hold. I put down both, but I don't fit either category neatly.

I'm way too secular to be Orthodox, or even Observant, but I do strongly agree with moderately large portions of Orthodox/Hasidic beliefs, so I can't be placed as Conservative either.

I grew up in a Conservative Synagogue; I've been to both Reform and Orthodox services and for various reasons have been put off by both; most likely force of habit. I'm disinterested in God, but of course God isn't that large a part of non-Orthodox Judaism, so it's okay.

You can't be both Catholic and Orthodox Jewish.
The question is not "what are you?" but "which do you most identify with?" Even if you're not orthodox Jewish (or Jewish at all), you can still identify with Judaism.

I wasn't born Jewish, I was born Catholic but Judaism is still a big part of myself and my heritage. It says identify not what you are, I attend services with my grandfather some times when we visit him in Brooklyn where he moved a few years ago. I also celebrate many holidays Hanukkah, Sukkot, Rosh Hashana, Pescah etc.

UU has a congregational organization Quadist, so a lot depends on the congregation. If you don't like the one you go to then try another. The one I go to is mostly apolitical which you would like, but it also has a heavy dose of spirituality, not exclusively of one religion, tho admittedly we have more Christians than is typical for a UU congregation these days.

Actually Quakers are similar to UUs in some ways. The worship style is very different.
Quakers are much more Christian in general. I don't know how common atheist/agnostic Quakers are, but even though most Quakers would call themselves Christian, there are more different that similar than most Christian denominations. I could be comfortable calling myself a secular Quaker although I am not a member at this time. I know that there are Buddhist UUs and that comes closer to my beliefs, more Buddhist than UU though, perhaps. It is good to know that there are apolitical UU congregations, although I don't know of any near me. The UU as a whole is quite political however. I have been to three general assemblies and 'social justice' is a big part of the agenda.

Well, I was raised Pentecostal, but my current church, which the only church I've ever been a member of, is technically Baptist.

The way the Anglican church is these days, do you really need to qualify that with the word Atheist?  Now if you were a Christian Anglican you probably would need to note that peculiarity. Tongue
