Kasich just about clinched his departure from the race.  He's de facto pro-choice now.

If I'm wrong; if Kasich thrives in this race despite this position, it's a sign that the GOP is seriously willing to offer itself to the Religious Right on a take-it-or-leave-it basis.  They really have nothing to lose; the Religious Right won't switch to the Democrats and they're not likely to launch a 3rd party.  They're really a lesser-of-two-evils crowd when it's nut-cutting time.

I'm failing to see how these statements are particularly pro-choice.

He is accepting Roe v. Wade as the law of the land.  He is giving up on any kind of Constitutional Amendment, and there is no talk of appointing SCOTUS Justices to overturn Roe.

That's pretty much throwing in the towel when you think about it.
