While I'm sure that Mr Cranberry would make an excellent Speaker he is, alas, not an Honourable Member.

Is there any rule that states that the Speaker must be an MP?

Going by the Westminster model yes. I mean we take it to the extreme's in the UK in that even the monarch isn't allowed in the chamber

Should we get the speakership elections running? I'm worried we're losing steam before we leave port

This parliament should not be bending to the will of reactionary right wingers and their militias.

There should be no constitution and certainly no 2/3rds majority to repeal whatever the Conservatives plan to shove down the throats of the South American working poor.

I really don't see what relation having or not having a constitution is to the 'working poor'. I know your party prides itself on claiming to represent these groups but the way we help all in society is by a strong, stable parliamentary government. This bill does just that

Mr Speaker it is my understanding that parties cannot remove honourable members from being sitting members of parliament

We're in dangerous grounds if parties are able to manipulate parliamentary seats
