Sorta the same for me! Except I have been voting a bit longer.

Well, I've been voting since 1994, but I've been an Independent since 2001, so it only applies since then... Wink

Different reasons.

I can't vote because I'm a violent felon who murdered some 5 year old for fun, but hopefully Hillary Clinton's voting reform bill will past so that our fundamental human rights will no longer be infringed.

O...kay....

Well I meant I hadn't voted for someone of the other party because I don't vote Democrat.

Different reasons.

I'd would've for Senate in '04. Before that, most likely for County Commisioner in '02.

I voted democratic for Wayne county executive Robert Ficano, he is quite popular in the suburbs, and the republican was a no name candidate with no experience.  Ficano was sheriff before.  He won with 70% of the vote.

I have never voted for someone from the other party.  I have also never voted for anyone in my own party.

In fact, I have never voted before at all, I am ineligible.

First time (2000), I voted for green candidates (list ballot). A great mistake (but I was young). Maybe the reason for wich I hate today greens and others liberals-libertarian Wink .

After that, I always voted for socialists and I don't think that I will change because I'm today a member of this party (even if I'm populist. In Belgium, socialism is, or maybe was, the cousin of populism).

In 2003, I voted for some Democratic candidates in my local town election.

In 2001 and every 2 years prior since 1995, I voted for a very popular Democratic candidate for State Assembly.

In 1999, I voted Democratic in town elections.

Other than that, I have voted Republican.

I voted for Carl McCall for Lt. Governor in late 90's.  I think I voted on the Right to Life ticket one year as well- could have excluded a Repub on that one.

2004 was the first and only time I have voted for a presidential candidate from the "other" party.  Now I may stick with the "other" party or I may not.  Republicans rarely remind me why I should be a republican, but thankfully for their candidates, the democrats are constantly reminding me why.  I think the best interpretation of national polling data suggests I am not alone.  There seems to be no great love for the GOP, just sincere objection to the democrats.  Their loss is your gain.  Exploit it wisely Republicans.

went over this before in past threads on similar topics (which were apparently deleted), but for the hell of it:

2000 -voted Bush/Cheney for President/Vice-President, as well as George Allen for the Senate, and Demaris Miller for the House.

2002 -voted to re-elect Sen. John Warner (of course, it wasn't like he had any real competition, anyways).

all of those whom i named are Republicans.  as a Democrat, i have never yet voted for a third-party candidate, though i have voted for Democrat-supported independents in local elections.
