For those of you subjected to this latest hack attempt, I suggest that you PM Morden, Nym and Leips about what happened, providing such detail as you can, and expressing your concern, and that you would appreciate this matter being given a top priority. Might as well bring in the heavy artillery right away, rather than going through all the foreplay. Btw, that IP address does not seem that familiar to me, as  one used for playing this game before. Whether it be given a top priority or not, this chronic issue may never be fully resolved, as opposed to the panacea of just banning IP address after IP address. Some sicko has taken a very unhealthy interest in this Forum, for reasons known only to the sicko himself.

Ftr, we do know Atheist's real name, but there are multiple people in Germany with that name, and I'm not sure which one it is.

Looks like that IP traces to San Francisco, so if it's Atheist then he's either using a proxy or is on vacation.

I don't know what exactly our legal options are.  Contact the ISP and ask them to shut him down?  If it's a proxy, he can just switch to another proxy.  Any lawyers here have insight into what, precisely, can be done with a case like this?

Note that this issue is more of an annoyance and is not a security hole.  The user can not see any a user's email address or password.  I'll am looking into whether we can remove the ability to send the password reset email based simply on username.  So far, I've not found a simple solution - will likely require digging into the code.
