I didn't know I was this prolific! Both major party candidates were awesome, but I go with Buckley. The guy won a Senate election in New Freaking York on the Conservative party label, I gotta give that props. The fact that he was seen as a potential for re-election before Moynihan stepped in is awesome too. I wish Moynihan would've been running against someone like Javits or another one of those useless liberals (small "l" and big "L" alike!), since it'd be an easy vote for him. As it is though, Bill's brother gets my vote.

James Buckley. Speaking of him, how long will it be til a third party actually wins a senate race. Since he won with the Conservative party their has just been republicans democrats and independents.

I knew you loved both of them.  And I wouldn't call Javits and his ilk "useless."  It's only because of them that we got civil rights legislation.
As my earlier post stated, this is one of the few races where I would have supported a Democrat over a Republican.
