Who would you support in the next Greek legislative election, wherether that be on September 20th or not?

For me if I was in greece, I would cast a protest vote for Popular Unity, and revert back to supporting SYRIZA if Popular Unity die out.

Hope there will be no golden dawn votes here.

Ugh. I don't like any of them. I don't like radical socialists, I don't like communists and I especially hate nazis. I also don't like the corrupt parties that f***ed up everything in the first place. I'm sympathetic to To Potami, a party for sane people, but their ideas will drag Greece further into the dirt. The Northern European tax-payer will pay for their pro-European ideals, while the Greeks will continue to suffer anyway. Much of the money is used for propping up banks instead of helping out people. Greece needs to leave the eurozone and the eurozone needs to admit that we're not going to get much of our money back - let's move on and learn our lessons.

Probably 80% chance that I'd stay home in this election, and 20% chance that I'd vote for ANEL, which still seems the least bad of the bunch (though that's more telling about the other parties). Still, I thoroughly dislike their rampant, irrational hatred of Germany and their overly nationalist rhetoric (even though I understand it), so I wouldn't be enthusiastic, and I won't vote for them (or anybody else) in this poll: they don't deserve it.

SYRIZA by default, but I would hope Popular Unity gets a decent result, to keep alternatives open on the left.

Help me decide between Potami and ND guys.

Potami is the obvious non-terrible choice.

Doubt you'd like ANEL, seeing as their leader once blamed the crisis on "Jews" not paying taxes.

Anyway I don't think it matters ultimately. Not that Greece has ever had a particularly healthy scene, but this crisis has ramped the whole affair up into a farce.

It goes without saying that the establishment parties are fryckin dire. I know blue avvies are voting ND, but these guys aren't cute Western Ukrainians like most right-wingers want. The Greek right is one of the more outright nasty and chest thumping mainstream wings you'll see, and rejects conservative-liberalism in favour of demented populism (remember  when PASOK were in power and ND were trying to claim the anti-bailout handle? PASOK always was a joke, remains a joke and always will be a joke patronage party (now without the patrons, rendering its continued existence disturbing and baffling). Oh and I throw Potami, a media-created abomination of a party into the "establishment" label. It's basically a continuation of those hundreds of failed liberal ND-splinter parties with identical names (DISI, DRASI, DOPI, SNEEZEY etc.) anyway, just with more media whoring.

And the anti-establishment side? KKE is a Stalinist cult so would possibly be good for a joke vote. ANEL is a great option if you want political cover for a military coup (worth pointing out the Greek military have kept all its funding and privileges throughout the entire crisis). The Centrists are a one-man band led by some old man, so could be good for a laugh as well. ANTARSYA is the sort of thing you think is cute outside of parliament, but severely misplaced within it.

I suppose I'd vote for Syriza's offshoot. Not that I particularly like them, or euro withdrawal, or Trots in general; but just to protest against the EU's moronic treatment of the whole ghastly affair. (It's not like they'll be able to form a government, so it hardly matters?

On the one hand the KKE is insane. On the other hand it is irrelevantly so. And also look at what its insanity doth produce:

Either, SYRIZA or Potami for me, btw.

Leaning towards LAE atm, but I'd like to see what other SYRIZA split-offs emerge, if any, before I make a decision.

Tsirpas has faced up to his responsibilities instead of choosing to let people die because of ~pride~ so this is a fairly easy decision.

Ah, I missed that. Was not too happy with ANEL MEP Notis Marias voting for the recognition of "Palestine", but this is much worse. Can't say I'm too surprised though. Nope, I'd never vote for such a party. Then I'd stay home.

Glad I didn't vote for them in the poll.

I totally agree with this analysis of Greece's terrible political landscape.
