If you want to get the fancy avatars  for the candidate you support in the primaries, like I have on the left, vote here:

https://uselectionatlas.org/MOCK/PRESIDENT/2016R/mock.php

https://uselectionatlas.org/MOCK/PRESIDENT/2016D/mock.php

And check the box where it says: "Treat my vote as an endorsement" or something. Otherwise it won't show up as an avatar.

You also need to log into your Atlas account first, not the Forum account. Just click "cast my ballot" on top of the pages.

If you support a different candidate afterwards can you switch candidates?

It's like an actual election, if your vote is cast you cannot change it anymore.
I mean like once the primaries are over and your candidate doesn't win does it go away?

You can always remove the banner in your Forum Profile.

Just click on "Forum Profile Information", scroll down to the boxes and deselect "show endorsements in my posts".

After the primaries, there will of course also be a general election mock election with new avatars to choose.

I would do this if it were possible to change them.

Why would you do this ? In a real election, you cannot change your vote either ...

But in a real election, the election isn't actually happening now; it's happening in a few months. I can't 100% guarantee that I'll be supporting the same candidate by the time my state's primary rolls around. It's almost getting a tattoo with a candidate's name on it.

This is especially true for people supporting minor candidates. Why would someone get a Christie avatar when there's a chance that Christie will drop out next week?

Nobody is telling you to vote right now. You can also wait until your primary is and only then vote here.

Dave,

in my ultimate profile it says below the 2008 mock vote "vote not public", but I'm sure I cast my ballot for Obama in 2007/08 at some point.

The logo does not show up though. The 2012 and 2016 logos are showing up. What could be the problem ?

Thanks.

The ultimate profile is looking at whether the make my vote public check box was selected.  I can change this vote to public if you like.

Enjoy,
Dave

Yes, please.
