With Fiorina's numbers rising do you think she will make it to the big kids table debate hosted by CNN on September 17th? Who will she impact the most by rising in the polls?

I'm leaning no, which is unfortunate because she is brighter than over half of the people that will be on that main stage. Just kick off Christie already, he has no momentum and hasn't stood out in anyway besides attacking Rand Paul.

CNN's formula is terrible. She definitely should. She's third in NH apparently.

I know CNN's criteria is different but here is the current RCP average:
Trump 22%
Bush 10.7%
Carson 9.7%
Walker 7.7%
Rubio 7.3%
Cruz 7.3%
Fiorina 6.3%
Huckabee 4.3%
Paul 4.3%
Kasich 4.3%
---------------------

Christie 3.3%
Perry 1.3%
Santorum 1%
Jindal 0.7%
Graham 0.3%

CNN so doesn't want Carly Fiorina in there debate, as she represents PROBLEMS for Hillary and company. So CNN won't do anything to aid and abet what would be a significant headache for Hillary. Therefore don't be surprised if it's a case of NO!

She should be in, and Christie should be out. Maybe Christie will drop out before then to make the choice for them.

CNN criterias for the debate were published before the debate and the Fiorina's good showing. There isn't a plot against Fiorina.

What is the average she needs to lead either Christie or Kasich to get into the debate?

At a guess (assuming 6 new polls before Sept. 10) then around 3 points more than Kasich or Christie (whoever is lower). But it all depends on how many polls come out. If there are lots of polls then less, if just a few, more.

I would put her chances at making it in around 50/50, and if she does then the most likely person who gets knocked out is Christie.

Lol and people believed Paul would be the first to go

I figured that it'd be either Paul or Christie.

She gets in if:

a) She gets an unexpected additional polling boost
b) Someone above her drops out
c) CNN is pressured to change their formula.

I think c is most likely.

I'd think Christie would drop out, he's damaged goods.

Her numbers have increased, it's in CNN's best interests, and the Republican establishment will be happy about it.

As it stands now, Fiorina stands to get screwed out of a debate appearance she's rightfully earned. I think CNN will be pressured to change their formula, and they should. On the one hand, it obviously isn't CNN's job to worry about what happens in the Fox News debate, but at the same time CNN clearly didn't think this thing through. It's one thing to guard against random noise in the polls, but it will become increasingly clear that CNN's formula no longer represents the reality of the race. Since CNN has no vendetta against Fiorina, there's no reason why they shouldn't change their standards.

Well the good news for CNN is that the debate is in California, far from any New Jersey bridges.

Since most polling organizations with numbers before the first debate are expected to have new polls in the field before CNN I think so considering her RCP average.

CNN will get a ton of backlash if their criteria ends up cutting her from the debate even though she's far ahead of 10th in the RCP average at the time of the choosing.

I think she will make it.  What polls will be included by CNN?  Are there any limit like in Fox News about the whole live phone or internet or what not.

If Fiorina will not be in the Top 10, they might still include her and have 11 candidates on the stage.
But  if Chris Christie will be in the Top 10, he shouldn't be forced out because of "MUH CHRISTIE HAS 0 CHANCES!!11!!1!! MUH FIORINA WON DEBATE!!111!!!"

He should be forced out because he's in 11th place or lower in most recent polls that reflect how the race is NOW (and thus, not in contention for a top ten debate) and she's in third-sixth place in most recent polls.
