I should have run. At least I would know how to slow Trump down. No doubt other candidates do, and are biding their time, until it's down to about 3 candidates. Meanwhile, Bush needs to drop out and throw his support to Kasich or Rubio. We shall see. This election is at once the most awful yet fascinating in my living memory. The front runners are highly problematical, both may collapse, and others need to drop out to give the ones in single digits on the Pub side, and on the Dem side, they really need more candidates. Sanders is about as weird a choice as Trump really.

I am afraid, your red avatar might not be ironic by next summer Smiley

I'm afraid, too.

This is exactly what would be going through Jim Gilmore's mind right now if he had decided not to run.

It might very well be going through someone like Mitt Romney's mind right now.

According to Gravis, Trump is +27 over Ben Carson while Hillary is +33 over Bernie Sanders. How long before we start debating Trump's inevitability?

Trump is inevitable, but Atlas will deny it fervently for as long as possible. This is a forum that thought that John Kasich of all people won the Republican debate.

And how much of Jeb's 10% comes from name rec/Bush loyalty rather than support for his 'moderation' and 'electability'?

Anyway, this makes sense. The narrative has shifted in recent weeks from it being a 17-way circus to a Trump vs everyone else circus.

Maybe Trump should be nominated - to forever destroy the Republican Party as a political party. It would probably be a relief, actually.

Kasich? Why? Is it a least conservative Republican bias or something?

Sorry to intrude, but considering the volatility of what we're witnessing right now, what makes you so sure that Trump wouldn't actually end up being elected President ? Should it not be considered at least as a possibility ? I mean, as a foreigner, I always assume you lot will end up making crazy choices on everything, always... No offence.

A President Trump is about as likely as a President Le Pen at this point, so you have no place to judge the Mericans
