I am both a real and Forum Liberal.

An example of someone who is a Real Liberal and Forum Conservative is Antonio if you're not sure what I'm referring to. Vosem meanwhile is a good example of a blue avatar who is a Forum Liberal. Basic, your position on "Forum issues" like mod overreach and bannings.

I guess supporting more moderation on the forum would make me a forum conservative...

in BRTD''s defense, it might be interesting to see what correlations, if any, exist between political views and opinions on forum moderation.

So, which one would be a forum "liberal" and which one would be a forum "conservative"?

So Eastern Ukraine would be real conservative / forum liberal, while Western Ukraine is real liberal / forum conservative?

BRTD and I, I guess, live on different planets. This forum is more tolerant of posting content than most forums. And I am proud of that. Just avoid personal attacks, and stuff clearly beyond the pale on the bigotry front, or other outrageous behavior, and you will be fine. It seems like close to half of the criticisms these days is that the Mod team is too tolerant actually. It's impossible to please everyone. So the best course is to just do what seems right, and leave it at that. And I think that is largely what we do.

I had to read the OP twice to understand what you meant with "forum liberal". I was especially lost after the part about Antonio being a conservative on the forum...

I voted real conservative/forum liberal, although "forum moderate" would be more appropriate: I agree with Torie's post.

I guess I'll go liberal/liberal on a technicality?

I'm a classical liberal, and assuming liberal on forum issues means being less strict on bans, deletions, etc., as opposed to banning people with ultra-conservative views, I suppose I'd be that as well.

But I still think libertarian/libertarian describes me best.

Your definitions of 'forum liberal' and 'forum conservative' are kind of confused and muddled, and very open to interpretation; if you want useful data, BRTD, it might be better to track real-life political opinions with a single, specific forum issue (I recall that at some point around opebo's banning, there was a poll -- possibly yours -- that correlated real-life political stance with support/opposition to opebo's ban. I don't remember the final results). Like David, I mainly agree with Torie's post, though I'm not sure it was true during the bad old days of Inks and death points and the bannings of jmf and opebo.

I did vote the way you told me to; I tend to agree with you on "forum controversies", and since you defined yourself as a forum liberal I suppose I must be one as well.

That's kind of what I was getting at, you opposed the bannings of opebo and jmfcst, Inks' tactics and overmoderation, etc.

I've been moving more and more to the left as of late (though I still retain quite a few right-wing views), though in terms of the forum I'm still rather conservative. To spice things up: Real Liberal/Forum Conservative.

Agreed.  I certainly am not a complete libertine on forum regulation (i.e., allowing porn spammers) but I'm definitely more "liberal" on forum-related matters than in politics, in which I have some very reactionary views, particularly on social policy.
