I agree with this. Ironic Trump supporters are just REALLY obnoxious (that Nagas guy for example is pretty terrible).

Unironic Trump supporters are the prototypical low-information voter combined with the prototypical angry racist. So, negative, even though they share my loathing of the establishment.

Ironic supporters of anyone on Atlas are annoying, but I am neutral on Trump supporters because I am weighing whether I want to vote for him or not. We need a guy to get tough on the illegals. But we don't need a complete douche in a toupee. Tough decision.

Do I count as an ironic Trump supporter? My "support" for him basically extends as far as being willing to vote for him at a Republican caucus in 2016 to ensure both a weak and entertaining opponent assuming that: 1-The Democratic nomination is basically wrapped up by the time Minnesota votes and 2-I can manage to go to a Republican caucus and sign anything saying I'm a Republican without throwing up.

The second of course being a much bigger hurdle than the first.

The "spirit" of things is important to me.  That is way outside the spirit of elections.  Doing something that is legal, but clearly not intended by the rule makers.  Like reporting posts by posters you disagree with politically even if you're not really bothered by the post.  It's just wrong.


This (tactical voting) by itself does not make one a piece of sh**t, it's more cumulative with you.

True, Picard isn't a "complete douche" and doesn't wear a toupee.  I don't know that he'd get "tough on illegals" though.  He seemed to be all too happy to bend the rules from the greater good.

Indeed. Besides, the Federation proved that radically different cultures (literally alien to each other) can coexist peacefully and work together for the common good. Hence why Picard would probably facepalm at Sanchez' nonsense.
