Anyway, if you read the article, she seems to be talking about contraception, HIV tests, and cancer screenings.

Yes, she is characterizing those who believe the government should move its funding of this to places that don't specialize in abortions as being anti-woman extremism comparable to that of terrorist groups.

She didn't even really compare anyone to terrorists, her point was that some of the archaic thinking is expected from more extremist groups.

there are much much much better ways for her to make the point that women spent the 20th century  fighting for many freedoms and now in the 21st century they arent going to give them up to some GOPers who sound like they want to take women back to the 19th, 18th and some even to Medieval times.

Bottom line is when you mention terrorists it is like mentioning nazis. It is a conversation stopper. It is stupid and she shouldn't have done it. Her 'gaffe' and questions over whether she should apologize become the story.

I can't believe anyone on this forum is actually defending what she said. They're probably the same people who gave sh*t to Walker for comparing unions to terrorists.

It's called being partisan. Plenty of Republicans have defended Walker's many inane comments, and then jump on anything remotely questionable Hillary says. Her comment wasn't very well phrased, but I doubt she actually intended to compare pro-lifers as a whole to terrorists. If she did, then it's ridiculous, of course.

What Rick Santorum called "a movement of love" goes and blows up clinics, shoots doctors, and even mails anthrax to Planned Parenthood headquarters, and that's not domestic terrorism? Practically every act of domestic terrorism since the end of the Vietnam War has been committed by right wing moral crusaders or anti tax "sovereign citizens."

Just a thought, isn't the complaining over this considered to be overly PC? Just asking, since PC is supposed to be a big problem...

You're against "Islamophobia", right? Your relation of the pro-life movement to domestic terrorism is just as ridiculous as generalizing Muslims to al Queda and ISIS.

Can we please stop calling pro-birthers "pro-life." These people will kill doctors and bomb clinics to infringe on female reproductive autonomy for a clump of cells, but continually vote down comprehensive sex education, free contraception, maternity leave, welfare, addressing the wage gap, addressing sexual harassment, addressing rape culture, and dismantling the patriarchy.

Your comparison is inaccurate.

The pro-birth movement and it's associated terrorism are to Christianity, what Islamic fundamentalists and the terrorism they support are to Islam.

We certainly shouldn't condemn all Christians because of a small number of pro-birth, anti-choice nuts. But we should allow neither the open encouragement of repression nor of terrorist acts in the name of 'freedom of religion'.

In Canada, our Attorney General calls those types of people 'misfits' as only radical Muslims can be terrorists in Canada. I suspect for most Republicans, that's true in the U.S as well.

No pro-life progressives anymore, Sad

I find it amusing when posters I have literally never heard of before call long-time respected members trolls. Clinton is right of course.

I take Hillary's cue as a reminder to buy more ammo today.

Terrifying.

In Hillary's defense ... Republicans seeking to eliminate the special, totes-free-they-pay-not-you loophole only for birth control medicine and insisting that people pay for it themselves is pretty indistinguishable from ISIS throwing gays off of buildings.

Christians believe in the sixth commandment, which is why most Christians are pro-life.  The cultural Christianity of the United States does not represent the billions of Christians worldwide.

Yeah, I apologize for contributing to the terribleness of this thread. I sometimes get angry over political stuff; I know most pro-lifers mean well.
