Which candidate will win the Kentucky's governor's election in 2015? Jack Conway, the Democrat, Matt Bevin, the Republican, or Drew Curtis, the Libertarian candidate?

I say polls will put Conway about a point ahead, but Bevin will surprise by winning by 5 points or more.

I have no preference or care as to who eventually governs Kentucky, but I must say, Bevin seems like the odds-on favorite. The Republicans are up big in the down-ballot races, and PPP is the only good poll so far, and that puts Bevin up. I think this might be the end of the Kentucky Democrat - at least for a little bit.

It would be nice to finally get some polling. I agree with Maxwell. Seeing a 52-47 Bevin win here with the GOP tides swinging up ballot oddly enough. Conway's not that big of a name as bad as Bevin might be as a candidate.

Hard to say with the limited polling. Gubernatorial elections are still winnable for Democrats in Kentucky, but the state's partisan lean at the federal level may be starting to bleed into statewide races. However, Conway is a much stronger candidate than Bevin, so it should be a pretty close race. I'm going to guess Conway by about two points for now, but we'll see what happens.

Bevin if the Tea Party label doesn't anchor him down heavily.

Bevin is a retread from the KY Senate race. And he was soundly def in that primary. And all state offices will be won by Dems.

My guess is Bevin. I wouldn't be terribly shocked if Conway won though.

The key race is KY and it will tell us about Va & OH. It is a bellweather. Is appalachia  going right or is it still swingy and just as competetive as Rockies, even at presidential level.

Governor races are NEVER bellwethers. Or do you think Republicans have a shot at carrying Maryland next year? And no, Appalachia isn't going Democratic in 2016.

Conway & Strickland are pretty similar; pro gun rights and running against similar guys in Portman and Bevin. Not so scary republicans.

If a majority on here are now saying Bevin is going to win I think everyone should go and change their predictions to the KY Governor race. If you say he is going to win then why continue to forecast the opposite?

It's still a close race. Also, why would you even care?

The GOP usually has wide leads along the lines of the way McConnell won last yr. Since it is within margin of error; dems have a chance. So far Bevin cant break away. So, Conway will pull it off then.

I think Bevin will win, and he will quickly surpass even Sam Brownback to become the United States' most incompetent governor.

I wouldn't rule out nor would I be surprised by a Conway win, however, I just think that the Republican trend finally catches-up to statewide elections in KY this year.

Most people put on their partisan hopeful glasses until they catch up to reality in the last few days.
