Ugh, this guy's response to every issue is more government spying.

First the Ebola issue and now this. Is there anything else from 2011's Republican Savior?

Very different from what he said in 2008....

FedEx tracking usually sucks for me and if it's the government doing the tracking im expecting it to be a little worse. (Sane)

So he wants everyone with a visa to be tracked 24/7? Has he gone completely insane?

"FedEx, a freaking shipping company, tracks movement of its objects. Why would anyone oppose the government doing the same to immigrants?" Is what he's basically saying. It's a metaphorical analogy, not a literal one.

He's rambling ideas. I hate it when we read what he says and then we assume he thinks the same of them as FedEx packages, as if it is causation.

Regardless of whether he thinks of them of packages, the idea that you should track all immigrants is scary to say the least. And a couple of years ago he was considered to be one of the few sane ones in the GOP...

It is, indeed, an administrative offense to live in the US without authorization, and it does subject a person to deportation.  It is, however, a Federal felony to re-enter the US after being deported.

Bad statement from Christie. Totally disagree with him on this one. It's completely unfeasible to do such a thing, and I won't even try to defend him on this.

Yeah, this. What's it about GOP primaries that makes candidates talk trash? It annoys me.

Yeah, this. What's it about GOP primaries that makes candidates talk trash? It annoys me.

The want for media attention for struggling campaigns, trying to connect to the base but coming off as an idiot, those sorts of things.

It annoys me too, but it is a reality of the world we live in now.

Can all quit referencing illegal aliens as immigrants? They aren't legitimate immigrants.

The definition of immigrant isn't based on legal or illegal, it's just a word for someone who migrates to another country.

An avowed statist suggests more government control as a solution to a problem. News at 11.

Can all quit referencing illegal aliens as immigrants? They aren't legitimate immigrants.

If I steal a truck and drive it around, I'm by definition a truck driver. If I pirate a movie and watch it, I've seen that movie. Something doesn't need to be legal to be true.

So, this would apply to all tourists too?

Yep. And while we're at it, why not legal citizens, too? And just tracking is inadequate, really, why not put cameras in every room and outside buildings to see exactly what people are doing? That way, if they break laws or something like that, we can catch them quickly!

FWIW, I think this idea is dangerous and stupid. I know I am apparently Atlas Forum's resident nativist (I disagree, but whatevs), but if we can force some form of national ID on illegals, than why not force one on citizens and tourists. I think this is just an attempt by Christie to harness Trump's momentum to legitimize what would be a universally unpopular policy otherwise.

It's gonna be impossible unless you plant a microchip inside the human being in question, just like scientists do with animals they'd like to track. You don't have to be the CEO of FedEx to realize that's the case. Cause if he was the only human being in the world to know such a gigantic secret as this one which even the sharpest scientists in the field had still to figure out, how odd he hadn't already made a multi billion fortune out of his unique knowledge long, long, long time ago.
