Let's be honest, fellow Libertarians. He's not winning the nomination. The RNC will do anything to stop it. So, when he retires in 2022 after winning a second term, who will Rand Paul want to succeed him to keep his work going? My money is on Massie.

Massie is a good bet.

It's obvious who is preferred successor is. I'm not sure that person will be the actual successor.

If you're talking Massie, then why not? They're close.

No I mean, Massie is who Rand Paul wants, doesn't mean Massie has a cleared field in Kentucky.

True. Grayson will probably take another stab at it.

By that time I hope the liberty movement is strong enough to propel Massie into the Senate. BTW, did he say he would retire after two terms?

Dream scenario: McConnell retires/is primaried in 2020 and we get both Rand and Massie in the Senate. Not sure how possible that is, but I, for one, would love it.

YES. And it would be weird that Kentucky out of all places would have the most libertarian senators.

Johnson may get the spotlight next summer as the leader of the libertarian movement, but the heir apparent to Rand is Justin Amash. Massie is inline behind Amash, although the clear successor to Rand as the non-terrible Senator from Kentucky.

Well, Barr is probably not Rand's preferred successor, but he seems like one of the likeliest successors in my opinion.

He's in Michigan.
