I worry that we may be ed no matter what happens in 2016

If Hillary Clinton wins we get the current status quo only with a slightly more hawkish foreign policy and a gridlocked congress which will only be more gridlocked following the 2018 midterms.

If Bernie Sanders wins he may have a better foreign policy and domestic proposals but they would also never get through congress. Plus the GOP would move further to the right then ever in response to a self-described Socialist and having a Jewish president following a black president would lead to an even bigger explosion in white supremacist groups with hate crimes probably skyrocketing.

If Donald Trump wins we also get a growth in white supremacist groups and hate crimes only perhaps even worse because they think the law is on their side and he probably turns the border into a police state. Legal citizens would probably even end up getting detained or caught up in the legal maze that he creates.

If it's some other Republican then they'd presumably control all three branches of government, gut whatever's left of the social safety and launch a war with Iran.

In any of these scenarios climate change continues to go unaddressed, there's still instability in Europe and the middle east and given our foreign policy there's a strong possibility of blowback from the past decade in a half of war. Basically the future looks really bleak to me.

So, in your opinion, the only way hate crimes won't skyrocket is if we get a GOP Pres that isn't Trump?....and if that happens, they will gut whatever's left of the social safety net and start a war with Iran?
