That's me. His policies are not bad at all, sans immigration which he has a weird fetish with. The problem is he is so unlikable and bombastic that he can't possibly win.

No, but let me go through them all:

1) Illegal immigration
Trump says: mass deportations, build a wall, used to support comprehensive reform
I say: Pathway to legal status, guest worker program, make sure the border is secure, e-verify

2) Health Care
Trump says: Repeal Obamacare, supports universal health care
I say: Repeal Obamacare, allow people to buy insurance across state lines and support insurance pools for the uninsured and those with pre-existing conditions with some form of subsidies

3) Taxes
Trump says: Raise taxes on hedge fund managers, supported a 10.75% wealth tax
I say: Cut taxes on income, capital gains, and businesses, close loopholes, limit deductions

4) Spending
Trump says: Spend $140 billion at minimum deporting illegals
I say: Balance the budget, cap non-defense discretionary spending, reform entitlements, end corporate welfare, and reduce the size and scope of the Federal government. End the Departments of Education, Housing & Urban Development, Agriculture, Labor, Interior, and the EPA.

5) Second Amendment
Trump says: Ban assault weapons
I say: Support background checks, but support the second amendment

6) Private Property
Trump says: Take away property for the good of his casinos
I say: Follow the constitution, support private property

7) Trade
Trump says: Support protectionist trade policies
I say: Support free trade to create jobs, increase wages, and help lower the costs of consumer goods

Cool The Democratic Party
Trump says: Nancy Pelosi is great
I say: Defeat the Democrats, don't donate to them

9) Planned Parenthood
Trump says: Fund women's health care, fund planned parenthood
I say: Defund planned parenthood, stop federal funding of women's health care facilities, let the states make that determination and better yet, the private sector

10) Diplomacy
Trump says: Negotiate with terrorists, use hateful rhetoric against competitors
I say: Negotiate with our competitors, use sanctions and if need be, military force against Iran

11) Courts
Trump says: The Supreme Court rules on what is the "law of the land"
I say: Most power is with states, the Supreme Court issues opinions

12) On the 14th amendment
Trump says: Repeal the 14th Amendment
I say: Leave the Constitution alone

I agree with Trump moreso than I agree with most other Republicans, and I agree with Trump moreso than I agree with most Democrats.

The only thing that matters to me is ending illegal immigration, ending H1B visas and deporting illegals.

Not exactly a GOP, but I am voting in the GOP primary this year so...

No, I don't like his style or his policies either.

I actually agree with dudeabides, except I'd advocate taxing capital gains as ordinary income.

Fair Tax is nonsense from the 1980s and 90s. I favor raising taxes on hedge fund managers and raising the cap on social security taxes.

Like your earlier suggestion, I think it would be an improvement over the current model, but it isn't my ideal. My ideal tax system is a bit complicated to explain and has no chance of becoming a reality though.

First, I'd prefer taxation to be done at the state rather than federal level. The federal level would tax the states based on either their population or even more ideally based on the voting of their representatives (vote for more spending, your state is then taxed proportionally more).

The states could then tax the people different ways to get that revenue. My preference in terms of how to tax the people would be, yes, first the end of the wage income tax. Wages are private information and the federal government has no right knowing such in my opinion. Also wage income isn't a true net gain or profit but rather just an exchange of labor for a common currency and therefore it is unfair to tax it in my opinion. Capital gains and business profits are actual gains though. Taxing wage income is like taxing revenue as opposed to profit. Also business activity and stock trades are already public information so no privacy violation there. So couple the profit tax with a transaction or sales tax to acquire the needed revenue.

Sure you could do that tax system at the national level as well, but I kind of like the extra check against excessive spending that allocating it to the states would do. If states had to be held accountable for the spending voted on by their senators you'd see people elect more fiscally responsible senators. People love spending until they have to start paying for it then even liberals start becoming fiscal cons.

I like the idea of returning power to the states. I think the federal government should only do those things specifically mentioned in the constitution, and your idea would increase the likelihood of that.

I like the way you think.

Oh, he is.  Read: he needs to GTFO of the GOP, as he's trying to drag the party the opposite way it needs to go.

No. I don't just not like Trump because of his attitude, behavior, and inexperience. I disagree with pretty much ALL of his policies.

It's amazing to see how many rank and file Republicans back higher taxes on the rich and even socialized medicine as long as it's coming from someone with an R by their name. It's crazy.

I can't support his policies on these issues:

1. Healthcare
2. Taxes
3. Free trade
4. Affirmative Action (yeah, he supports it)

These are huge issues to me and they knock Trump out of possibly getting my support.

I don't even support Trump. But in terms on policies it would depend on the specifics, and Trump is not one to give specifics.

No. He's not a conservative...at most, he's a right-wing populist. He's very much analogous to the "far right" parties of Europe that aren't really far right on anything but immigration.
