They're 53.4-40.3.

They were 50.8-41.2 (9.6 points underwater) when this was originally posted.

That's obviously bad news if she's the nominee in the general election. Does anyone know of a table comparing favorables of winner, loser, and percent of the vote?

She is an awful candidate and will make an awful president. Can anyone imagine how old she'll look by 2020, probably 90+

This isn't about her age. Biden and Sanders are older and have better positive favorables.

That's all? She's the Teflon lady. It should be under water by 50 points. But then so should Trump's, but I digress. The world has gone mad.

Polarization probably keeps Trump and Hillary both at the 40% mark.

Eh, Clinton and Reagan also had high unfavorables.  I wouldn't sweat it too much if I were Hillary.  I think she will have no problem thumping Trump.

People are starting to slowly remember that Hillary Clinton is Hillary Clinton.

Nope. Looks like high 50s for Clinton for his elections.

I don't think anyone has ever won a Presidential election with favorable ratings as bad as Hillary's are now.

Fair point (I was basing my response assuming what Landslide Lyndon said was accurate).

Still, I don't think anyone has ever had Donald Trump as their opponent either. Tongue

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/29/upshot/likable-enough-clintons-exaggerated-favorability-problem.html

In April 1992, for instance, a Gallup poll found that Bill Clinton’s ratings were 34 percent favorable and 47 percent unfavorable, but he went on to defeat George H.W. Bush by more than five percentage points in the popular vote seven months later.

It's a basic truth that favourables don't really mean much. You don't have to like someone to vote for them. It's obviously helps, plus favourables have a tendency to shift about a lot, especially during campaigns. It becomes both a reflection of increased exposure, as well as, a comparative rating against your opponent.

You're in no position to call anybody on this forum a jerk. Look in a mirror first.

You know why? Because you are jerks.

Really?  Although not recently, was your "tude" towards me due to my "jerkiness?"

Anyway, this whole line of posts is getting off the rails, and now I am contributing to it. My bad. But it would be really, really nice, if posters tried to be civil with each other, now wouldn't it?

That's faster than anyone could have predicted.

I did predict her favorables would go down, but not by that much, not this early and not that fast.
