“Boehner is despised by the younger, more conservative members of the House Republican Conference,” Sidney Blumenthal wrote in an email to then-secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Nov. 2, 2010.

“They are repelled by his personal behavior. He is louche, alcoholic, lazy, and without any commitment to any principle,”

Kinda understand now why the Republicans wanted that information to be classified.

Has anyone liked their caucus leader? Reid was hated by the progressives, Schumer has already begun the fine tradition Tongue

Most of this was common knowledge. The number of caucus members declining to vote for him as Speaker speaks volumes.

And, lo and behold, John Boehner's Speakership did not last beyond a single day before the entire House was drowned in a flood of liquor and tears. Verily, Sidney Blumenthal is a prophet who commands an unparalleled understanding of men's minds.

Why would Sidney Blumenthal know the thinking of younger more conservative members of the GOP House? I mean, why would they confide in that man, who was viewed as a toxic figure?
