... and because so many voters don't like Trump, there's also a huge amount of "other" voters:

38% Trump
29% Clinton
29% Someone else
  3% Undecided

Yeah, I would also opt to jump into a barrel of acid rather than voting for either Hillary or Trump ...

I can't use it on the map. But this is consistent with a dismal (for Utah) lead of Trump over Clinton).

This is fascinating to see such a core Republican demographic like Mormons abandoning somebody who is leading nationally in the Republican primary by huge margins.

Seems to confirm Mormon reservations with Trump.  Being majority-Mormon, Utah is different enough to support a Dem under just the right circumstances.  I wouldn't think of it as the most GOP state going forward.

In a binary split, nobody goes above 40. Too many undecided

39+28 = 67.

The guy who refereed to the concepts of grace and communion by saying he "eats their little crackers and drinks their little wine" isn't popular among Mormons!?!?!?!? Shocker.

Mormons actually care about their faith and don't use it as a political prop. Huh, interesting.

Mormons will vote Democratic if the LDS hierarchy tells them to do so.

I'm not trying to predict what the LDS hierarchy will say, let alone whether Donald Trump will get the nomination. But it is possible to offend even some of the most reliable constituencies of a Party, and there will be consequences.

Non-Mormons in Utah vote like Californians, so even a 50-50 split among Mormons would be a disaster for the GOP in Utah.

So the last two Utah polls have had Trump only leading Hillary by 8% and 9% respectively. Now that's interesting. Smiley

For as socially conservative as it is, Utah has always seemed establishment-friendly.

I think it's deeper than that (or maybe just simpler) - I don't think Utah appreciates Trump's kind of temperament. They are very culturally conservative, but not in the way that would shut down the government or end the 14th amendment. There is a level of politeness when it comes to a lot of the religious voters in Utah.

How soon some people forget about the vote on Prop. 8 in 2008 California.

It's getting easier to understand why GOP leads swing states but can't cut it nationally.

Hillary is at 29%. There is no way she gets UT support.

Or the fact that white Californians are more conservative than Iowans. CA Whites went Romney 53-45 in 2012.
