Every car I've ever purchased (save one, a VW Golf) has been made by a Japanese car company.
7 Mazdas (3 RX7s, MPV,3,Protege,CX7)
2 Hondas (civic and accord)
1 Toyota (corrola)
1 Subaru (Justy....the one I miss the most that isn't an RX7)
1 Nissan (Sentra)

(cars in bold are what I have today)

My next car will have a clutch and be rear wheel drive.  I miss proper driving.  Want a Miata, would take another 7 (or an RX8) and would settle for an MR2.

Pro tip from someone in the insurance business.

Think you've bought a car made in the USA?  Maybe, maybe not.

Look at your VIN#

1st character- Identifies the country in which the vehicle was manufactured.
For example: U.S.A.(1or 4), Canada(2), Mexico(3), Japan(J), Korea(K), England(S), Germany(W), Italy(Z)

I love it when some shmoe tells me he only buys American when he buys his Chrysler or  Chevy or Ford and when I go add it to his policy I have to break his heart telling him his vehicle was made in Mexico or Canada......oops.

Indeed, and some "imports" are made in America.  Some even considered "domestic" by the Feds, the 90's Mazda 626/MX6 (Ford's Probe twins) were the first.  If the cars are made from at least 75% American made parts they are considered "domestics".
