Though I'm glad that the Yes campaign has chosen to pursue its goals peacefully and democratically, I stand strongly opposed to this as a Senator and as an Atlasian. As Winfield noted, recent history has not shown the Northeast to be active enough to sustain a national government on its own, and the ever-declining pool of registered voters suggests that this problem will only worsen. In these times of crises, Atlasia needs to stand together, and Regional independence, though shiny and new, will do little to solve the systemic illnesses that plague our nation.
