Looks like Kudlow is still edging closer to a run:

This would probably be the third CT Senate race in a row where the Democrat wins 55/43-ish.

Yeah.

Republicans might be able to force Democrats to spend some money here if they can somehow get Foley or McKinney to run. But Kudlow might not even reach McMahon's level of support.

Kudlow is moving towards a run, per NYT.

Kudlow would definitively be worse than running nobody. Congrats Senator Blumenthal.

Kudlow could try to connect Blumenthal and Malloy. Doubt it would work but it is worth a shot.

I say Blumenthal just like Ted Strickland and Michael Bennett are gonna be hard to defeat, as well as the case for Pat Murphy.

He handled the Vietnam Question, as was enthusiastically elected in 2010. Hope for the same in 2016.

The GOP love to talk about Iran, but dont want to talk about shutting down govt again,  which will harm chances in CO, OH, & FL.

Well Ohio and CO wins the election.

If I'm not mistaken they are leading in polls thus far.  And are running more of a GE strategy than a primary campaign. And a shutdown will just solidify their leads.

But, OH will be an upset to me. The state favors Portman, but Strickland is still leading.

No one will be surprised when a terrible financial pundit turns out to be a terrible Senate candidate.

I've been getting e-mails almost every week for about 3 months from Senator Blumenthal, all attacking Kudlow or mentioning him in some way. He seems to really consider him a threat, or maybe wants to trash his name just in case.

I like Murphy better than Blumenthal, but they are both great Senators. There hasn't been a bad Senator from this state since Bush & Purtell in the 1950's.

If Blumenthal had voted against the Iran deal he would have had a lot of pissed off constituents so either way someone is mad.

There's no reason to expect that this year's match-up of Career Democratic Politician versus Clueless Republican Bazillionaire will yield a different outcome from the other dozen like races in recent memory.

I have a feeling Kudlow is just keeping his options open and is saying he might run to get media attention. My gut tells me he'll decline running (like he has done in previous cycles). Presidential year, CT is a blue state, and Blumenthal is very popular. Blumenthal will easily win reelection
