Well, do you think he will be there at the debate?

The Democratic field is so small that they have no reason to exclude anyone. Hell, let Willie Wilson in why their at it.

I hope only Clinton, Sanders and O'Malley (+ Biden if he runs) are allowed.

If he is running only on Citizens United they can't ask him any other policy platforms apparently...

My feeling at the moment is that he'll be the Democrats' Buddy Roemer, but things could change. I see his ads everywhere online (including on this forum) and he already has the financial resources that are at least a hundred times larger than Lincoln Chafee's chest.

The first Democratic debate is the CNN one, and I think the requirement is that you have to get at least 1% in three or more of the national polls from their list of pollsters.  It's unclear that Chafee will make it by those criteria, let alone Lessig.  How many pollsters will even include Lessig?

Unclear what the criteria for the subsequent debates will be though.

Probably not, but I feel like all declared candidates should have a chance and participate in the debates.

Would you put Jeff Boss, the little known democratic candidate and 9/11 truther, on the debate stage?

Sure, why not? Let's make it a party.

Not sure 1% of the public even knows who Lessig is. My guess is he will not be included in any debates.

He polled higher than Chafee in the PPP poll

If the standard is 1% in 3 national polls, I think Lessig can make it.

Yes, but it will be moot as he is solely running on campaign finance.

Why not Webb? I don't like him either but I don't see a reason to exclude him.

Sanders doesn't have a PAC and has introduced a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizen's United, so why doesn't Lessig just endorse him?

Sanders has other goals too and would serve a full term. Lessig would focus SOLELY on campaign finance reform and resign after its passage.

A constitutional amendment has some steep requirements, 2/3rd of congress to pass and 38 states to ratify. Not an easy process. But you know who doesn't get to OK it? The President.

Yeah, for the CU repeal he'd just rally congress/the states into voting for the amendment. But he also wants to switch over to a complete public financing system for elections, and that he would get to sign.

Of course, if Lessig were somehow elected president, then it would be pretty clear that the people want campaign finance reform, and rich people apparently aren't able to stop it, so it might be a little easier to get things done on that front.

I think a good debate would be:
Hillary Cinton, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Martin O'Malley, Jim Webb, Lincoln Chafee, Larry Lessig
