This is probably relevant to a lot of people on this forum, the Internet in general, etc.

I've known that I've had Asperger's Syndrome for as long as I can remember (I think I was diagnosed before kindergarten) and have always identified as such, so the removal of Aspergers as a thing, and of the removal of the high/low-functioning dichotomy has made me wonder how to characterize myself.

Obviously I still have the conditions of what was once called Aspergers, and it affects me in various ways, so I can't exactly say I don't have autism. And I don't have problems speaking, or utter obsessions (I do have things I focus on, but I can tear my attention away if needs be), such as those who were once termed as having "low-functioning autism". So how exactly do I identify myself, and what do I have? "Autism spectrum disorder"? That's not a helpful term, because I don't think anybody but psychologists knows what it means.

Ironic since I've heard it speculated that Hitler may have had aspergers.

Fascinating. I've also heard it speculated that Hitler may have been a homosexual Jew. Or a Bohemian corporal.
