Embodied the contradictions of the Founding Fathers perhaps more than anyone else. He gets a FF rating for being more of a democrat (relative to most of the other Founders) and a HP rating for being a slave-owner (how anyone can even attempt to explain that he was among the men who owned other human beings with statements like "Oh, he was a product of his time" is noxious. And frightening).

On the other hand, he was a fascinating and compelling figure from a philosophical standpoint. Meh. Like others have said, Jefferson is a good illustration of someone who is too complex for a FF-HP dichotomy.
