On the topic of conservatives and gays...

A majority of Americans who support civil unions, along with almost a quarter of Americans who support gay marriage, voted for Bush in '04.

If the exit polls are even remotely correct, almost 30 million Bush voters support either gay marriage or civil unions.

If these numbers are this high in the U.S., imagine what they are in Canada or the UK.

or you could always move down here, and save yourself the trouble on deciding between what you see as the lesser of two evils.

You're kidding right?

Just because I'm kind of gay doesn't mean I want to change an institution as old as history itself.  The ancient greeks had more gay sex than you'd care to know about, but there is no historical record of them trying to change the definition of marriage.  Never, in recorded history, was there an attack on such a core pillar of society.  I do not want to change it because there is simply no need to do so.

How does letting someone else get married effect those that previously could get married?  Is there only so much marriage to go round and letting others do it dilutes it?

You might as well make an argument that my having a driver's license somehow is an attack on your driver's license.

...if you got that driver's license under new rules and you couldn't have got one under the old ones.
Try analogy...at least get it right. Smiley
