The most partisan state senate districts

I think we've made threads trying to do the most Republican and Democratic congressional districts. I'm going to start doing that for state senate districts to test it out and see how it goes. I did all the three electoral vote states first.

Wyoming:



84.3% McCain, 14.0% Obama
62.6% Obama, 35.6% McCain

Vermont:



55.6% Obama, 42.7% McCain
88.2% Obama, 9.7% McCain

North Dakota:



74.0% Obama, 24.0% McCain
74.3% McCain, 23.4% Obama

Welcome to Brooklyn NY, where the Orthodox Jews wearing black meet the folks who are black.  A more Dem SD can be created that does not append the Pub SD (maybe 97% Obama), either in Brooklyn or the Bronx, and the lines might be jiggled a bit to make the Pub SD more Pub, but not by much and it will be in this location,  but it’s fun to have the two SD’s right next to each other like this.

For pure Obama SDs it's hard to beat his home town of Chicago. This map has three compact districts each within 250 of 217,468. The south side ones were both over 99% Obama (99.3% green, 99.2% blue) and the west side one comes in at 98.3%. I'm sure the south side can be gerrymandered to produce one over 99.5%, but I thought the elegance of the compact districts were worth noting.

For LA, you can get an 88.1/10.2 R district almost from just Livingston parish alone:

Certainly would've been higher than 2012, but that gerrymander was probably the best I could do. Everything in eastern Tennessee is consistently 65%-75% R outside of Knoxville and Chattanooga. It was a bit hard trying to connect the most McCain precincts. I left some 77-78% precincts out just because of connectivity. But the most McCain precincts I saw in the area were only 81-82%.

Hot damn, I didn't even think of doing western Tennessee. I forgot how Republican the whites in Shelby County actually are. Nice job.

South Carolina:



I made three attempts for Republicans. One of them failed (the Horry County one) at only 68-31 McCain.



This is the most Republican, at 79.6% McCain, 18.6% Obama.



The yellow is close in at 78.1% McCain, 20.9% Obama. Since there is no great concentration of blacks in South Carolina, I thought the easiest thing to do would be to do a Columbia district. The one I got voted 90.1% Obama, 9.1% McCain.
