I've always wondered whether some people on here actually ARE politicians.

muon is a state legislator, Madeline had some obscure municipal office for a while, and I think there was a guy who was a candidate for the Left Alliance in Finland.

Has he/she released his/her real name?

But he's in the LEGISLATURE; it would be interesting to know which legislator he is if he's willing to reveal that information

A former chairman of Liberal Alliance youth wing is the highest ranking from by country I am aware of, having posted on Atlas (though I suppose that no Danish pols are really famous).

As to the big countries I really doubt US Senators, Brazilians governors and Asian presidents read Atlas Forum..

I suspect many drop by for the election data base, and may briefly peruse the Forum, and may find it actually to be of some mild interest, but certainly not in their best interest to post in, particularly if it is giving their opinion about anything.

Yes that was hilarious.

I think a lot of political commentators may have found the forum on occasion. The main site is almost constantly referenced by the mainstream media, and people may have discovered the forum just via browsing. (And apparently Larry Sabato used to post here, so...)

There was also one Brit who managed to get elected as a Lib Dem councillor and then immediately resigned. Odd.

In a sane world, posting on this forum would be a career-ending scandal.

It's a good thing we don't live in such a world.

I suspect that many staffers and campaigns are paying members of the Atlas.  Some of them probably cruise the forum.

muon2 holds political office.  He's the only legislator I can think of here.  Of course a senator could create an account and pretend to be a nerdy 17-year-old asking for dating advice or which university he should attend just to get a feel for the upcoming youth vote.

I'm a low-key future president, FTR

Keystone Phil doesn't post here any more, so I don't know if he reads the forum.

The question was "have ever read the forum".  I think Phil more than qualifies.  Smiley

Of course, but since (at least to my knowledge) he is not that "famous" your point is sort of moot, no? Therefore, when he was here he didn't fit the description of a famous politician who read the forum, technically speaking.

His real job makes it so that posting here isn't real wise.  And I was only busting your chops earlier.  Smiley

Speculation is that Phil is working for the Toomey campaign, and the rules are that one is not supposed to participate on sites like this. Phil took a previous hiatus while working on a campaign.

This is also what prompted Lunar to quit the site (not working for Toomey, but for some other politician or political cause--can't remember who/what it was).
