I didn't see that particular article prior to this thread, but I have seen the initialism HP and immediately thought "Horrible Person."

No, but then I'm over 40.  My first graphing calculator was an HP.

We have to satisfy the state's bureaucracy from time to time and the initials PDE come up on their paperwork.  Apparently it stands for Pennsylvania Department of Education.  I have it so ingrained in my head that PDE stands for partial differential equations that I have a hard time taking some of the memos seriously.
