Why are people saying Paul and Trump?

If you think Trump was bottom three you just aren't watching the Republican debates the right way, and will continue to be blindsided when new things happen in the race.

Kasich - Sounded boring and vague. For all the stupid hype he gets on this forum, he was TERRIBLE tonight, probably the worst on stage, and didn't say anything memorable.

Huckabee - Not many are saying it, but he's pretty boring too, says predictable things, and barely got any air time.

Trump - Sounded like a clown who has no idea about policy or substance, but that's my take. Sure, he's been like that for awhile, but this was serious tonight and he didn't catch nearly as much fire as I thought. I'm sure the Republican electorate doesn't think he's a loser though

The real loser is CNN. The format dragged on and on, and it now seems absurd that until a week or two ago they were refusing to include Fiorina.

I would have included Huckabee, but he was already an irrelevant loser before the debate even started.

The biggest loser in terms of significance was Carson. The most disappointing, performing far below expectations, was Kasich. He's got to be very disappointed in his own performance.

Not particular on the debate performance persay but rather the polling #s and if their objective for the debate should meet.

-Paul- Trump is right about 1 thing.  Paul is falling toward the kiddie debate group.  I agree with many of Paul's positions.  But within the context of the GOP, most of his issues seemed either not tough enough or irrelevant.  Like the weeds issue for example.  That ain't a big issue within the GOP debate.  It may have been good enough to win some supporters for Ron in 2012.  But this is not 2012, where there is no Democratic primary and there is no Bernie Sanders.  Rand desperately need a strong performance to stand out but Fiorina just stole his thunder.  Rand had isolated himself against the populist movement but he isn't appealing toward the establishment base either.

-Walker- Walker still polls somewhat better than Kasich and Christie prior to the debate.  But his ship is sinking fast despite his ads are now starting to air.  He need something to stop the sinking and we got none of that last night.

-Kasich- wrong election for him to be in.

-Huckabee- is this guy playing to win?  Or to get some good deal after the election?  I don't put him in the loser cat. because this guy seem to not play to win at all.

-Bush- we know he ain't in the danger zone as much as other candidates.  The fact that Fiorina out perform him when she is compete in the same pool of voters as he is, could put him in the loser bin.  But he is more of a fighter last night and push back against Trump.  I think he did well enough for now.  At this stage it is a battle royale, the field need to be clear out first.

-Trump- after he survive the last debate.  2 things became clear to me, he doesn't have the ability to actually debate point per point on actual policies.  And the second thing is that, the real game for him is actually what happen between the debates.  Last night was the same.  He did an okay Trump performance in the GOP context of 2016 race (the race where people can't stand politicians).  Like Fiorina could be a reason why Bush can be consider a loser.  For Trump, it seemed people are adapting to his tactics.  I think Fiorina is getting the formula down pretty well.  We have people like Carson who is backing off, which can make Trump look petty.  While people like Bush fight back (though not as far as he should) in the Donald's term like the casino comment, or just the energy thing in general.  The fact that all these online polls (where Paul supporters tend to spam the hell out of it like the pre debate Fox polls) after the debate put Trump as #1 meant that the debate haven't turn off many Trump's supporters at all.  But it also increasing clear that this sh**t will not be tolerate when he debating Clinton.  National stage is not the same as the GOP stage.  His standing haven't change with me at all.  To me, I still like him best among the GOP.

-Carson- Carson was not on anyone radar last time around.  But Carson is Carson, he still doing the Carson thing that his supporters like.  People who like Carson before is not turning off by him at all after this debate.  And that is good, because with the supporters he got now, he can stay in for the next 2 months waiting for the crowd to clear up.  A few supporters may go to Fiorina for her Plan Parenthood comment, but I don't see it hurt Carson at all.

Trump got hit hard and gave a dumb answer on vaccines.
Kasich's on the polling bubble, and gave some stumbling responses.
Cruz answered every question with the same tone.

Paul whined like a baby for 10 mins that he wasn't getting called on, he just exuded defeatism. And anybody watching it on cable wi probably be out off by his Dad's weird commercials.

I'm apparently the only disappointed by Rubio. He was so boring. No charisma! He dropped a long way from his last debate performance and he needs to come off stronger to pull away from the establishment jokes. Christie outshined him marvelously and will seriously play to Bush voters. Everytime Rubio spoke, it was just so boring.

Walker on the other hand, though not great, at least asserted and promoted himself. Easily more impressive.
